I knew Inder Lal Dandra since the early 70s. He was, in the 70s, one of the few sarangi players with the AIR "Top Class" ranking. It is said that Pandit Ram Narayan learnt for some time from his father in Udaipur, Rajasthan. I visited Inder Lal in West Delhi in April 1997. He impressed me with his cantankorous manner, declaring "ve mussalman log hamare shastriya sangit karab kar diya" (those Muslims have ruined our classical music).
