Sabir Khan is the first son of the great maestro Sultan Khan. He was born in Jodhpur in Rajasthan and learned sarangi from both his father and his uncle Nasir Khan. His great-grandfather was a court musician in Sikar, and Sabir plays in the Sikar sarangi style, popularised by Sultan Khan. He has engaged in many fusion projects, works in film music,  and has accompanied the tabla maestro Zakir Hussain regularly. He appears to be  one of the most serious  and dedicated of contemporary young sarangi players. Here we begin with his classical performances:
